Fit Specialist Training
As a leader in breast care around the world, Amoena offers education for women who want to become certified fit specialists.
Women who wear a prosthesis should have their fit evaluated at least once a year by a Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF).
CMFs are trained to fit bras and breast prostheses through manufacturer based programs. Their clinical experience, combined with their completion of an approved education program, allows them to apply for certification through nationally recognized boards such as:
- ABCOP (American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics)
- BOC (Board for Orthotists/Prosthetists Certification)
Amoena currently offers Introductory Fit Specialist courses in cities around the nation, in the spring and fall. The Introductory Course is a pre-certification course that instructs you on how to match product with surgery type, gain practical hands-on fitting experience, and master key fitting techniques. The course prepares you for the BOC and ABCOP certifications exams.
*The Amoena Fit Specialist Advance Course is a continuing class for those experienced Fitters looking to gain more knowledge and CE’s.
Locations: Jersey City and Columbus.
If you are already BOC or ABCOP certified, you will receive 7.5 BOC or 7.5 ABCOP continuing education credits.
Fit seminar dates and locations are subject to change. We make every effort to update the list as soon as a change occurs. See below to register.
