In case you missed it last week, we’ve launched our 2nd annual Club Amoena Essay Contest. We’re calling it What “Works” For Me, and would love for you to submit something! If you’ve ever wanted to get published, this could be your chance — the winning essay will appear in December’s Amoena Life magazine.
The theme of the upcoming issue is “Work,” so let’s explore all its angles. Tell us how you managed your return to work after cancer treatment. Did you keep your same job? Maybe you decided to change careers? Did you say, “Forget working! I’m traveling the world instead?” Or, tell us the thing that “worked” for you during treatment. Did you keep busy with a support group? Take up knitting? What worked? I think we’ll get a nice variety of stories, and maybe yours can help someone else. We will share snippets of your submissions here on the blog, for exactly that purpose.
- If you’re not yet a member, sign up for Club Amoena — our exclusive network for breast cancer survivors. You’ll receive a free e-newsletter about your health and wellness, and be invited to participate in surveys, giveaways and other feedback requests.
- You can submit your 800-word essay simply by emailing us. Put “2011 Essay Contest” in the subject line.
- The official contest rules are posted on our website.
You have until September 16 — we can’t wait to read you!
