Our Special-est: Certified Fit Specialists

A good portion of the credit for Amoena’s work does not belong to us at all. It belongs to the women who are out there serving you, day after day: your Certified Fit Specialists. (I imagine a lot of you are nodding your heads right now!) These women are the heartbeat of our organism — the enthusiastic cheerleaders as well as the members of the varsity team. What I mean is, your fitter knows which breast forms and bras are going to work best for you, under specific conditions, and with all kinds of clothes. Their years of experience, eyes for detail, and ears for listening… well, let’s just come out with it: We love our retail partners!

Certified Mastectomy Fitters (CMFs) are trained by manufacturers like Amoena, and then certified by organizations like the Board for Orthotists/Prosthetists (BOC) and the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABCOP). They must log a certain (impressive) number of hours and pass a pretty rigorous exam before they are officially qualified to put letters behind their name (CMF or CFm), and beyond that, they must have a certifiably generous heart.

Amoena certified fit specialistsWe like to brag on our Fit Specialists by naming a Fitter of the Month. Maybe you’ve seen this page on our website… but maybe you haven’t! This month’s article is about a fitting team in Arkansas. We know that you love your own fitter, too – and we’d like to hear about her!

Leave us a comment with your Fitter of the Month nomination! We do plan in advance, but sometime in the next year, we might feature your fit “special-est!”
